Disappointed in Durham
This was our first visit to DPAC and it was not everything we heard it was - disappointing, mediocre, and a bad seat in the house. How beautiful, clean, and new then to slog through the soggy weather only to sit through a performance that was beabadoobee at best. Perhaps it was the acoustics and no doubt an improvisational show, but a talented songwriter is a more talented performer, in my opinion. The entire performance had the feel of an organization other than guitars (16 of them per my son's count) were tuned and the stage was set. The guest performer, a long-time friend and Durham local, was, overall, quite disappointed. I think this type of solo performance is best suited to a much smaller, more intimate venue.
